Rejoice!

Look up!
Love is coming
Coming to us all
Soon our sorrows will flee away
The hateful will discover love
The neglected will compassion feel
The lonely friends will find
The tormented will be released
Into comfort sweet and peace of mind
The broken heart will finally be healed
Eyesight will flow into the blind
Never again will be spoken
A hateful word
Till all the earth be tender and kind
How so?
You may wonder
And wonder will all
At the merciful rain that soon will fall
Upon mountains and plains and valleys low
Till rivers of living water flow
As winds of change and freedom blow
Until all the evils of this world become the dreams
of hope unfurled
Sailing seas of life fulfilled
No war, no strife
Not one soul killed
But each one gathered in due time
Into the reason
For this rhyme
The reason God in wisdom kept
Hidden for ages
But now is lept upon the page
Writ not in stone
But on human hearts
No longer alone
But all together
All in all
Like birds migrating
Hear the call
To leave behind those ways of old
Of selfishness and darkness cold
To breathe new life
To live as one
To sing for joy beneath the sun
And sky
No longer tossed by storms
But blue like spring
Becoming warm and green
Rejoice!
This will be seen
As all the prophets have proclaimed
Though earth was without form and void
Let there be light!
And that light is named
Jesus Christ who endured death and shame
For the Joy set before Him
Our souls reclaimed and restored
Eternally
A light that eventually all will see
Not in words of stone or promises of doom
But an end to all the mists of gloom
The veil is rent
And coming soon
All light
All love
Rising to full noon.
