Haiku challenges

Hello to you all.
I have a challenge for you
Let’s all write haikus!

The first line has five -
The second line is seven,
And last, five again.

Let’s pick a topic
Something that interests you
Anything will do!

Let’s kick off with:
Your favourite Author!
GO!

I have no time right now,
I’ve got jury duty, ugh!
Be back soon, I hope!

Jury duty, ouch
One too many syllables
still, have bonus points!

Split up the firewood!
Those logs can’t keep from fighting,
Yet soon they will dance.

Brightly burn in peace,
Warmth and comfort radiate
For their peacemaker.

Agitate the clothes.
Foreign substances remove,
Making soft and pure.

Then drive off the wet –
On cold days hardly wanted!
Fluffy, warm and dry.

Dishes I must cleanse
And empty out the sink now –
Put them in their place.

Masticate those roots
In masticating juicer
Harvest essence bright.

Carrots reddish orange,
Pale and green the celery
Sadly, these make brown.

Gather fragments up,
But not that I may save them –
Out must go the trash.

Repack shipping box.
Her mind she changed, my lady –
Wants a diff’rent pot. :unamused:

Vacuum cleaner time!
The dog has not been resting,
Growing hair’s hard work.

Now please, may I paint?
No, girl! To your drawing things!
Drawing must come first.

I’m evading chores
In writing of this long list.
Writing is more fun.

Very good, Cyndy
Beyond the call of duty
You make chores sound good

Only one mistake
Well two if i’m really harsh
But let’s not split hairs

One syllable less
On one line out of many
But who really cares

Also, the topic:
Your top favourite author
Would be nice to hear

But i don’t complain!
Such poetry should be praised,
Such lovely wording

In fact, i’ll change the theme…chores and/or avoiding them

George MacDonald wrote:

“Obedience is the key”,

The Spirit then teaches…

(How’s that?)

That, Mr Hammond, is a wonderful sentiment. With a six syllable payoff  .

Ray Thornton Chandler
Never wrote a bad line, but
I’m afraid I have

J

Oh, dang… I’ll have to try again…

MacDonald has said

Imagination is like

God’s creative Thought…

I removed that one, it stunk.

Hey Dave

That’s the worst haiku I’ve ever read. It’s only one line for goodness sake!

J

You mean I have to remove the removal of what I removed?? Harsh, dude…

There was a young gal
from Nantucket, who wanted…
Oops, mixing genres.

What do you call a mix of haiku and limerick, I wonder?

Great efforts, my friends
Methinks the theme change was missed
But meh, it’s still fun!

So
rr

To James I do say,
“Forgive my ignorance, please!”
(A fool I must be. )

Hi there Jamsie boy -
You dude of sounds so heavy;
You is the axe man?

and

Haiku for Shirley Temple of fond memory

Hi ku, kothice ku

Lumpty dumpty dad

Hi ku, kotchie ku

Hi, Sir Whittington,
I must admit that, with glee,
I do wield an axe!

Okay, a writer – got it (finally) and Haikus traditionally deal with nature. George MacDonald is my favorite writer (after John and Paul), and we’ve been discussing GMac (and the PRB’s) high view of nature, as revealing the nature of God (with which I do agree, whether or not in an emminationist strain I do not know.)

Quanta flitting back
or forward – makes no diff’rence
become real when seen.

Does Father view our
choices ere we make them? Or
if so, would choice be?
