Sooner or later God will have (wants if you like) all men to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4)
It is God’s “pleasure” that all mankind be saved.
And “God is operating all in accord with the counsel of His will” (Ephesians 1:11).

Change it to read “in accord with the counsel of what He wants if you like.
Because God says
“My counsel shall stand.
I will do all my pleasure
(the saving of all mankind is part of the pleasure that God wants)
Yea I have spoken it.
I will also bring it to pass.
I have purposed it.
I will also do it.”
Isaiah 46:10,11

Job 23:13 “But he stands alone, and who can oppose Him?
He does whatever he pleases.
(the saving of all mankind is part of what He wants that pleases Him).

Isaiah 55:11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
(the saving of all mankind is part of all of which God desires or wants)

So we see God does all His pleasure, He does whatever He pleases, and His word accomplishes that which He desires.
His pleasure, that which He desires and pleases Him is what He wants.

His will = What He wants
What does He want?
THE SALVATION OF ALL MANKIND
Why will it happen?
Because God Himself will see to it that it gets done.

Any cooperation towards our salvation is the result, not the cause of God laying hold on us by His saving grace and causing Jesus to be “choice” in our heart, just like it was in the case of Lydia and Saul of Tarsus.

The opinions of exactly how God will achieve universal salvation may differ from UR to UR just like the opinions of ETers also vary from person to person about what the Bible teaches about salvation.

GRACE OVERWHELMS

What I perceive to be a basic issue.

People who don’t think salvation is 100% by God, not just 100% “provided” by God like to be in the hands of their own “free” will. That is where they feel most secure.

IMO, that is the most basic difference between ETers and URs.

Just like in the case of Lydia (whose heart the Lord opened, Acts 16:14) and Saul of Tarsus (Acts 9:1-8), our cooperation to be saved is the result, not the cause, of God laying hold on us by His sovereign grace and causing Jesus to be “choice” in our heart.

The timing of the salvation of everyone is under God’s sovereign control.
God arranges everything so each person will be saved according to His perfect timing for each individual.

CHOOSING WHAT IS CHOICE
biblical studies: His Achievement Are We - Part 9 - Choosing What Is Choice
concordant.org/expohtml/HisAchie … nt009.html
“No one to whom Christ is not yet choice can choose Christ.
And Christ cannot be choice to anyone to whom He has not yet been made choice.
When He is made choice He becomes choice and so is choice; or to say the same thing, He is chosen.
This first act of the believer in which Christ is consciously chosen, is merely a consequence of his new mental preference which has been graciously granted to him by God.”

ARMINIAN ET BELIEF - It’s as if God says
“Unless you are lucky enough to find out about my son during this lifetime, and even if you are that lucky, if you don’t have the good sense to use your “free” will and cooperate with my son properly before you die, then I am going to raise you from the dead and I will sustain you alive in an inescapable state of eternal torment forever.”

My advice, don’t put your faith in your faith. Your faith may, and probably will be misplaced from time to time, especially if you are having faith in your self.
Put your faith in Jesus Christ instead, because even if He casts you into the lake of fire which is the second death it will achieve the age-during corrective chastisement that He has promised to everyone who needs it.

A snippet from THE PRESENCE – Walter Lanyon

Do you feel the’ Presence and understand what it is to recognize for a moment that nothing----no, not anything -----is to be destroyed, but everything is to be fulfilled with the Love of God which only has to be recognized to change the imagination and shatter the belief that held it into its outline of ugliness?

Formerly we went out to battle with the thing called evil ----now we have reduced it to the vacuum of belief in the absence of God. No matter how rampant it may be, and how destructive in its manifestation, or how terrible in its dimensions----it is in the final analysis the absence of God, and this absence of God can only exist in the imagination, for God is omnipresent.

“I come not to destroy but to fulfill” will thrill you and relieve you of all the hateful warfare with evil that has been going on------it will bring you to a true understanding of the non-resistance of the Christ Mind within you and make you understand the height and depth and majesty of this Presence.

It is wonderful-----it is glorious------it causes the Hosannas to rise from the very centre of your being and magnify the Lord of Lords and Host of Hosts.

THE KING JAMES IS WRONG

God says what the Greek says, not what the interpreted versions say.
God says what the literal translations say.

There are several dozen Greek scholars who agree with John Wesley Hanson that the KJV is wrong.

AGES OR ETERNITY AND THE KING JAMES VERSION – JOHN DOKAS

“By examining the texts of the Greek manuscripts we find the word AIONIOS or AGE LASTING in place of the word eternal of the King James version. AIONIOS the adjective modifies its noun AION or AGE and means lasting during the AGE, or AGE-LASTING.

For that meticulous student of the Word of God that was penned by the inspired writers, I am including this concordance of the Greek noun AION and its adjective AIONIOS for your reference in your studies of the mistranslations of the King James version versus the text of the Greek manuscripts.”

I don’t think the following is by John Dokas but it does the same job.

THE GATES OF HELL SHALL NOT PREVAIL – TONY HINKLE & GARY AMIRAULT

“Christian leaders have locked themselves into the teaching that the King James Bible is ‘the inerrant’ translation of the so-called original texts. They say the 66 books of the present King James Bible are inerrant, but they don’t tell you it lacks 14 entire books which were in the original King James of 1611. They don’t tell you the King James Bible has been changed many times in the last 350 years, and there have been thousands of corrections!

This world need to be set free of false images and concepts of our wonderful Father. Please meditate on this very thoughtfully and prayerfully. If eternal torment is the penalty for sin and the Creator did not want anyone ending up there, then it should stand to reason that He would make the warning as absolutely clear as He could make it to all mankind, past, present, and future. But the fact of the matter is that thousands upon thousands were born after Adam and they were never warned. Read the prophets and you will not find a place of eternal torment for the wicked. If the Creator loved us and created such a horrible place, He would surely have plastered the warning everywhere. The KJV has the phrase ‘everlasting punishment’ only once. Yet, when looking at these word in the Greek, even these two references turn out to be ‘age-during correction.’ Again we ask, if eternal torment be the horrible fate of most of mankind, why such a little warning?

The Scriptures tell us the mind of man cannot conceive the height, length, depth, and width of our Father’s love for His creation. His ways are much higher than our in all areas, including His justice, love, and wisdom. He wounds, but like a doctor, to bring about healing. He says ‘Vengeance is Mine’ knowing only He can return good for evil, an innocent life for a guilty one. He overcomes His enemies with good and tells you to do the same. His love never fails. Believe it. It will never fail anyone, including you. You can now enter into your rest. ‘For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth, of things in the heavens (Col. 1:20).

  • THE REAL GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS) – BERT BAUMAN

“Our popular English Bible carries the name of an earthly monarch and so bears mute testimony to the influence the English King had over the translators. His directive to ‘do nothing that will disturb the tranquility of the church’, appears to have been taken very seriously by the translators since they often chose to interpret certain Greek words to support then current church doctrine, rather than render a faithful and consistent translation of the original.

I must confess to the admiration I feel for the absolute brilliance of Satan’s cunning and strategy. He has effectively polluted the entire fountain of truth from which Christians drink by causing confusion in the meaning of the single word aion, and its adjective aionios. It does not seem that this single word could be so important as to produce calamitous results, but it is just here that we see the utter genius of our adversary. Perhaps no other word, erroneously translated, could cause such widespread confusion and distortion of the truth. Practically all Christian doctrine is affected: the purposes of God, the nature of God, judgment, man’s destiny, and salvation – to say nothing of its effect upon our concept of the very God we worship and the way we treat one another as Christians, and the world at large.”

EDITOR’S ADDITION
AIÓN – AIÓNIOS
tentmaker.org/books/Aion_lim.html

BERT BAUMAN continues, “The doctrine of eternal torment is not found in the Scripture but the teaching of judgment certainly is. But why judgment? Is it a matter of God’s vengeance only? The scriptures suggest that God’s judgments are desirable but not necessarily enjoyable. It is never pleasant to be judged, but the fruit of judgment is desirable. Correction produces righteousness which yields the fruit of the Spirit. Therefore, while the chastening is unpleasant, the results are a blessing. Out of love for His creatures, God chastens, and corrects. He judges His creatures for their own good.

Did not Jesus teach us to love and do good even to our enemies? And while He admonishes us to be perfect even as our heavenly Father, would our Father be less than we are expected to be? Can love pour out vengeance for its own gratification, or judge to satisfy its own sense of justice? The result of God’s judgments must ultimately be profitable and beneficial to the one being punished, ‘for the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them’ (Luke 9:56).”

GOD COUNTED THE COST: - Ray Prinzing
"For which of you , intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he that laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock Him, saying, This man began to build, and he was not able to finish. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements, and His ways past finding out! In all this Job did not sin, nor did he attribute folly to the way God was working. Luke 14:28-30; Roman 11:33 and Job 1.22.
No matter what the circumstances of life are, we should not charge God with folly. Natural reasoning cannot wrap around the negative happenings of this life, but we can relax in the knowledge that God is in complete control and He knows what he is doing.
Christendom’s theology on the plan and purpose of God has become a gross perversion of the truth and most certainly attributes folly to God. They want us to believe that God started well but the devil upset His plans; so now He has substituted a salvage program to try and save a few scraps, even though His initial plans has ended in disaster. No wonder it reads in Matthew 15:9, “In vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” They call Him “God” but they deny it by their teaching. They exalt the devil and attribute to his power that he doesn’t even have. They teach a so-called “rapture” in which God somehow manages to snatch a few out of the hands of a semi-omnipotent devil, while the rest are destined to suffer in the fire of hell forever. This kind of teaching, my friends, is attributing folly to God. Such a god deserves to be mocked and ridiculed for such a performance. Such a god is not really God!
Jesus said that a man should count the cost before he enters into any Endeavour, otherwise his half-finished project will attest to his inability and lack of resourcefulness. And yet Christendom dares to attribute such folly to God Himself! When God laid out His plan and purpose for the ages, He guaranteed ahead of time a totally successful accomplishment of all His pleasure. Surely God in His all-knowing omnipotence should not be accused of operating by a principle that is inferior to how He has instructed weak and finite man to operate by!
Job38:7 tells us that the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy when God started His plan of the ages. They knew that God was going to do something beyond all expectation. Christendom comes along and tries to tell us that all of a sudden the bottom fell out, an enemy interfered, and now the best that God can do is a patch up job.
God is raising up a people who will preach the truth about His plan of the ages, and this preaching will produce the results that God is after instead of bondage to a Babylonian system of beliefs. Isaiah 40:12-14 says, “Who hath measure the waters in the hollow of God’s hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales. and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being His counselor hath taught Him? With whom took He counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgment, and taught Him knowledge and showed to him the way of understanding?” God does not need any help from anybody to finish His job and accomplish all His pleasure. Neither can anybody hinder or delay His purposes. He is all-sufficient within Himself to get done what He wants done, and no created will can affect the working out of His plan. God has said to Himself, “I have counted the cost, and I know that I have enough resources to finish My plan for the ages and present it back to Myself a total triumphant victory. In Psalm 50:12 God says, “The world is Mine, and the fullness thereof.” The entire world belongs to God. None of it belongs to Satan. Satan can only manifest temporary partial control so that God can work a greater purpose out of it. God knew that He could not lose, because He knew that he was willing to give enough of His resources to attain a total reconciliation.
The reason that man’s love fails is because it doesn’t deep loving long enough. But God’s love NEVER fails, because He will keep loving, and keep loving until the desired loving response has been attained. God will not, indeed cannot fail to win the loving allegiance of every heart that He has created.
A man who loves a lady until she consents to marry him is like God. While courting her, the man brings her many gifts. But after she marries him he goes to her place, loads up all the gifts and takes them and her back to his place, and he hasn’t lost a thing. If he only loved half-way he would lose his entire investment; but God loves all the way and He will not lose even one soul. It is true that the sinful soul will die, but it will be raised up again into newness of life in Christ Jesus. The destruction of the sinful soul is part of God’s love-process. God’s love never fails. God’s love always wins. Contrary to what Christian Babylon teaches, God’s love will not stop being effective when we die. Neither will it stop being effective at any point in time after the resurrection. Without any failures, God will accomplish His purpose for loving us. Not even our own will can separate us from the love of God; for He has not created us with a will so strong that he cannot influence it for our own good and for His glory. God counted the cost and he said to Himself, “I will spend everything necessary till I have gained everything for My glory.” God so loved the world that He gave to receive it and, bless your heart, the world He will get! Nothing will be wasted. Nobody will be lost. But in God’s year of jubilee the creation will be returned unto Himself in better shape than when He thrust it away from Himself. Acts 15:18 says, “Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the ages.” God knew every act and every sequence of events. He always knew what followed each development, for He Himself is the cause behind every development.
God knows us inside out. He knows why we feel the way we feel and why we do the things we do. He knows all of our motivations and desires, and He will control them all to work out His special plan for us. The Psalmist said, “O Lord, Thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and my uprising. Thou understandest my thoughts afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. Lo, O Lord, Thou knowest it altogether, Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit, or whether shall I flee from Thy presence? If I make my bed in hell, behold Thou are there. If I dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me. How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them they are more in number than the sand, And when I awake, I am still with Thee. Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts, and see if there by any wicked way in me, and lead me in Thy way for the ages.”
God is responsible for, and in perfect control of the interplay of good and evil in our life. He does not tempt us to sin, but He does allow us to be tempted in order to teach us lessons through it. God takes full responsibility for our temptation, for it is only because of His sustaining power that any tempter can tempt us. Man is accountable for yielding to temptation but God is responsible for it. And because God is responsible for it, He will see to it that man learns a positive lesson through the negative result of his accountability. God will not allow any sin to gain a permanent victory over anyone, but He will reverse its destructive power and turn it into good.
Rejected and scorned, ignored and trampled on and utterly despised - still God’s love suffers it all till it has won over every heart. Isaiah 66:9 says, “Shall I bring to birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord. Shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith Thy God.” God counted the cost and He knew that he would not lose out on any part of His plan of the ages, but would gain all back into Himself. All loss is temporary, for God sows the seeds of gain in every loss. “For from Him and for Him and to Him are all things.” Romans 11:36. And Hebrews 2:15 says that Christ rendered of non-effect him that had the power of death, that is the devil, for the purpose of delivering them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Let him that buildeth a tower be careful to count the cost,
Lest having the tower started, he finds that it cannot be finished.
And others beholding will mock him for all that he purposed and lost.
Our God has a plan for the ages - a purpose beyond all compare.
He carefully weighed out the balance and marked out the course for each man.
Then measure the good and the evil, creation in sorrow would share.
He willingly gave of His treasure - not even withholding His Son,
But followed His plan of redemption through Calvary, death and the tomb,
Secure in the knowledge that vict’ry would climax all He began.
He shall not be mocked by sinners; He shall not be found to fail.
The purpose which He determined, in mysteries yet to be known
Will find in Him its perfection - His love and His grace shall prevail.
He bringeth to birth and His power is strong to deliver His own.
The firstfruits of this generation, and all that the ages shall hold,
Till ALL THINGS in Him are united to worship the King on His throne.
God has not lost. God will not lose. He sat down, counted the cost and said, “I have enough grace and love to finish the job before the ages have been completed.” ALL THINGS will be restored; nothing will be wasted, nothing will be lost. Everything will be returned to His glory and praise.

To paraphrase what the Sundance Kid might say to Butch Cassidy during a theological discussion —
“You keep believing that God is going to sustain people alive in an inescapable state of everlasting suffering Butch. That’s what you’re good at.”

But if any reader has any desire to consider another point of view about what the Bible teaches then here is a great place to start.

THE GOSPEL FROM OUTER SPACE – ROBERT SHORT
“The gospel of love heard from the churches is at bottom a gospel at gunpoint. This gospel claims to speak of a great love, but only one step behind this “love” is an unspoken, or often very vocal great threat – the threat of eternity in “hell” if we refuse this love. What a travesty of love, even human love, not to mention God’s! For one would think that God’s love ought to be at least as great as what human beings are capable of. It is precisely the implied or expressed threat of eternal perdition that compromises the churches’ ‘gospel of love,’ and gives this ‘gospel’ the lie to ordinary people, and is in fact behind by far, most of atheism.

On the other hand, this is not the quality of mercy I see in God. I get the strong feeling of an infinite, unconditional, no-strings-attached love for all people. At the same time this love is all-powerful and sovereign. It is not so flimsy and pitifully weak that it can be finally frustrated or defeated by mere human whim or by meager man’s arrogant illusion called ‘free will.’ ”

VOMIT

On City Data Christian forum, a poster named twin-spin frequently refers to UR as “vomit.”

twin-spin’s “vomit” versus UR’s “vomit”

twin-spin’s definition of “vomit”
Sooner or later, because of what Christ accomplished by His death and resurrection He is going to save everyone from everything from which they need to be saved, including their stubborn will.

UR’s defintion of “vomit”
Sustaining anyone alive in an inescapable state of everlasting suffering.

A snippet from A TREATISE ON ATONEMENT – HOSEA BALLOU

“We are told of a god who created millions of beings whom he intends for endless torments and puts His whole design into execution; and this is called ‘goodness.’

In millions of cases this god finds it most for his glory to make his rational, hoping, wanting creatures endlessly miserable.

We are likewise told of a devil who acts for his own gratification, and who delights in making God’s creatures miserable; and this is called ‘badness.’

Shall we thus represent our kind and merciful Father from Whom streams of goodness continually flow to His wanting, needing creatures? No; let every vibration of sense within us acknowledge His bountiful hand which will never close.”

A snippet from GOD’S METHODS WITH MAN – G. Campbell Morgan (pages 185-186)

“Let me say to Bible students that we must be very careful how we use the word ‘eternity.’ We have fallen into great error in our constant use of that word. There is no word in the whole book of God corresponding with our ‘eternal,’ which, as commonly used among us, means absolutely without end. Men have divided the church, separated from each other, and persecuted one another, upon a though conveyed by an English word which has no equivalent in the Bible.”
G. Campbell Morgan

In response to that statement, the SCRIPTURE STUDIES CONCERN editor (unnamed) wrote in 1956
“We cannot conceive of a Creator Who knows the end from the beginning, One Who is Love, Who has infinite wisdom, and infinite power, giving to any being life, life which is never to end, but to continue in suffering to all eternity. The Bible does not teach it anywhere in the original languages. God’s punishments are remedial and take place within the span of the ages. Punishment will last no longer than is necessary to bring man to hate his sin and be reconciled to his Saviour.”

A Word to the Elect
ANNE BRONTE

You may rejoice to think yourselves secure;
You may be grateful for the gift divine –
That grace unsought, which made your black hearts pure,
And fits your earth-born souls in Heaven to shine.

But, is it sweet to look around, and view
Thousands excluded from that happiness,
Which they deserved, at least, as much as you, –
Their faults not greater, nor their virtues less?

And, wherefore should you love your God the more,
Because to you alone his smiles are given;
Because he chose to pass the many o’er,
And only bring the favoured few to Heaven?

And, wherefore should your hearts more grateful prove,
Because for ALL the Saviour did not die?
Is yours the God of justice and of love
And are your bosoms warm with charity?

Say, does your heart expand to all mankind?
And, would you ever to your neighbour do –
The weak, the strong, the enlightened, and the blind -
As you would have your neighbour do to you?

And, when you, looking on your fellow-men,
Behold them doomed to endless misery,
How can you talk of joy and rapture then? –
May God withhold such cruel joy from me!

That none deserve eternal bliss I know;
Unmerited the grace in mercy given:
But, none shall sink to everlasting woe,
That have not well deserved the wrath of Heaven.

And, Oh! there lives within my heart
A hope, long nursed by me;
(And, should its cheering ray depart,
How dark my soul would be!)

That as in Adam all have died,
In Christ shall all men live;
And ever round his throne abide,
Eternal praise to give.

That even the wicked shall at last
Be fitted for the skies;
And, when their dreadful doom is past,
To life and light arise.

I ask not, how remote the day,
Nor what the sinner’s woe,
Before their dross is purged away;
Enough for me, to know

That when the cup of wrath is drained,
The metal purified,
They’ll cling to what they once disdained,
And live by Him that died.

PAUL

The apostle Paul’s frustration was that, regretfully, he sometimes preferred sinning. The fact that he actually chose sinning demonstrated that, at least momentarily, he preferred it, or he would not have chosen it. It is what we actually do that demonstrates our true preference. We can say we don’t prefer it, but our actions speak louder than words.

Sometimes Paul’s sinful nature was the strongest influence in his life.
Romans 7:14-25 makes it plain that in no way was Paul’s will “free.”

But the Spirit of God taught Paul through experiences that in those times that “the sin that dwelt within him” (v20) preferred sinning; he could then reach out to Jesus for rescue. This God-taught attitude gradually, and no doubt reflexively, became the strongest influence on Paul’s will in his war with his sinful nature.

“What About how the Bible says that those who do not believe will perish or be destroyed?”
tentmaker.org/FAQ/perish.htm

Kenneth Larsen and James Coram
“Everlasting destruction” would mean that they cease to exist. However, that terminology wasn’t used by any of the prophets. I didn’t make up universal reconciliation. It has strong Bible support.

Where is a resurrection from the lake of fire taught in the scriptures?
The lake of fire is distinctly defined as the second death (Rev.20:14; 21:8). In it is cast all that is still at enmity with God. So that, death is indeed the last enemy (1 Cor.15:26).
And we are just as decidedly told that Christ is the one who abolishes death and brings life and incorruptibility to light (2 Tim.1:10). The reading “hath abolished” is not true as to fact or as to grammar. It is in the indefinite form (commonly called the aorist tense) simply recording the fact apart from time. Death has not been abolished yet.
How and when it will be abolished is told us in the fifteenth of first Corinthians. It is to be abolished by means of universal vivification (1 Cor.15:22). This takes place at the consummation (1 Cor.15:26).
It is useless to look for plain statements on this subject in parts of the Scriptures whose scope is limited to eonian truth, such as the Revelation. It is unwise to look for it anywhere but in the special portion which deals with this topic. Death and resurrection are exhaustively treated in the fifteen chapter of first Corinthians and there it is we should look for clear statements as to the ultimate goal. There we are distinctly told that the last enemy that shall be abolished is death (which must refer to the lake of fire, for the first death cannot be the last enemy). And there we are told that it is to be done by a universal vivification rather than resurrection.
The term “resurrection” is applied to those who have afterward died again, such as those who suffer the second death. Hence there is not a resurrection, merely, from the lake of fire, but a vivification beyond which there can be no death.

It is also apparent from Col. 1:15-20 and many other texts that the lake of fire is not the end of God’s plan for those cast into the fire.

DESTRUCTION IS NOT ETERNAL
Jesus knew that John 3:16 was not the end of the story…that’s why He continued to John 3:17 and talked about the salvation of all mankind!!!
3. Jesus makes no attempt to use verse 16 to negate or qualify verse 17. He simply makes both statements side by side as if both are completely true. The reason He does this is that both ARE completely true.

We see this over and over in Scripture, especially in the writings of Paul – a statement about people who have faith now (maybe a warning or exhortation or encouragement about the benefits of taking part in the kingdom of God a.k.a. the next two ages of life on earth) right next to a statement about how Christ accomplished the justification of all men. See Romans 3:23-24 and 5:18 and their contexts for example. This is no big deal; none of these statements negate, qualify (change), or contradict each other, because both concepts are 100% true. Some will be saved from death early and take part in the kingdom of God, and everyone else will be saved from death later.

To attempt to use some statements (about those who get saved early) to negate the others statements (about the eventual salvation of all) is to butcher the common sense rules of language and communication. We would never do this to each other in everyday communication; the only reason people try to do it to Jesus and Paul is because they cannot bring themselves to believe the plain statements about the eventual salvation of all mankind.

If I said to my kids, “Those of you who help me clean the yard today will get to go to a movie with me tomorrow, and next week I will take the rest of you to a movie,” I have made it very clear that all the kids will eventually go to the movies. My two statements do not contradict each other or negate each other in any way. This is the exact same thing Jesus does in John 3:16 and 17 – He makes two equally true statements. Yet “hell mindset” Christians try to make one statement negate the other in order to fit their preconceived pagan/Catholic-inherited ideas.

Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perish,
and no one takes it to heart;
the devout are taken away,
and no one understands
that the righteous are taken away
to be spared from evil.

Oh my goodness righteous people perish!
Does that mean they go to be tormented forever?
Does that mean they don’t get eternal life?
How are they spared from evil since they obviously perished?

Perish simply means to be destroyed, to die, to be lost. The actual Greek word is apollymi.
Guess what: Jesus came to save those who are apollymi.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost (apollymi - same word).

So Jesus will save those who perish. How does He do this? By destroying death! When death is finally destroyed, all will be resurrected, and all will be alive! Jesus is life!

NOW IS “A” DAY OF SALVATION
(not “the” day of salvation)

AUGUSTINE

Dr. Edwin Abbott, headmaster of the City of London School, wrote in his Cambridge Sermons -

QUOTE: "An argument was introduced by Augustine, and since his day incessantly repeated, that if aionios kolasis does not mean “endless punishment,” then there is no security for the believer that aionios zoe means “endless life,” and that he will enjoy the promise of endless happiness. But Matt. 25:46 shows the “eonian chastisement” and “eonian life” are of the same duration-lasting during the eons, and when the eons end, as Scripture states they will (1 Cor. 10:11; Heb. 9:26), the time called “eonian” is past and the life called “eonian” is finished, but life continues beyond the eons, as Paul teaches at 1 Cor. 15:26: “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (which must refer to the lake of fire which is the second death, for the first death cannot be the last enemy). That is, the last, the final one in order. How will it be destroyed? First Corinthians 15:22 gives the answer: “For as IN ADAM ALL are dying, even so IN CHRIST ALL shall be made alive.” Death is destroyed when ALL have been made alive, IN CHRIST.” – Dr. Edwin Abbott

Note God’s wording
“In Christ all shall be made alive”
not
All who are in Christ

NOT EVERYONE – Matt. 7:21

If these words were taken literally, then no one at all would enter the kingdom of Heaven because, at least for a period of time EVERYONE doesn’t do the will of the Father.
According to Rom. 3:10-18 EVERYONE starts out in the condition described in those verses.

All that Jesus meant by that statement is that NO UNREPENTANT SINNER will ever enter the kingdom of Heaven.

But we know that a time is coming when there will be no unrepentant sinners left in existence.

We know this because God “will have all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:4)
It is God’s “pleasure” that all mankind be saved.
And “God is operating all in accord with the counsel of His will” (Ephesians 1:11).

Change it to read “in accord with the counsel of what He wants” if you like.

Etymology of the Word “Damn”
The words “damn” and “Hell” are among favorite words spoken by theologians of the “hell-fire” type.
Let us look into the etymology of this word “damn.” We may find some interesting surprises.

ALL
A snippet from The Inescapable Love of God, Pages 59, 60, by Thomas Talbott:
“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life (Romans 5:18).
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all (Romans 11:32).
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive (I Corinthians 15:22).

In each of these texts, we encounter a contrast between two universal statements, and in each case the first “all” seems to determine the scope of the second. Accordingly, when Paul asserts in Romans 5:18 that Christ’s one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all, he evidently has in mind every descendant of Adam who stands under the judgment of condemnation; when he insists in Romans 11:32 that God is merciful to all, he has in mind every human being whom God has “shut up” to, or has “imprisoned” in, disobedience; and finally, when he asserts in I Corinthians 15:22 that “all shall be made alive” in Christ, he has in mind everyone who has died in Adam. The grammatical evidence here seems utterly decisive; you can reject it only if you are prepared to reject what is right before your eyes.”

Does “All” mean “All”?
